Anonymous flight attendant

Explaining to Thrillist.com, an anonymous flight attendant from American Airlines revealed the incident which happened in 2000.

They wrote: “About 10 seconds from landing, I looked out the window and saw the tail of a Cathay Pacific Airlines Boeing 747 crossing our path as we were landing.”

The pilot was then forced to do an emergency manoeuvre: “I remember the pilot pulled up so fast, I thought I was back in my Navy days.

“The pilot didn’t say a word for about a minute.”

Whilst they managed to avoid the plane, the passengers on the flight were “screaming” after the quick ascent.

The anonymous flight attendant admitted that “the only thing that prevented me from screaming was I was pinned to the seat with such force it kept me silent.”

The pilot then made the announcement regarding what had happened and apologised for the manoeuvre after the plane crossed into their landing path without permission.

Thankfully everyone on board was fine although the flight attendant admitted having a “series of cocktails” when landing.
